THE ROLE OF LEGAL ADVISOR

  • Assist committee section to compile quality reports on the consideration of the Bill by:
    • indicating the proposed amendments, if any, agreed to or rejected by the Committee and list
      all reasons for such as required by the Rules;
    • Ensure that the Committee complies with all other requirements of of the Rules;
  • Provide overall quality content support to the Committees on the bills before them;
  • Advice on whether, considering its importance and complexity, the time period provided will be
    sufficient for the consideration of a Bill;
  • Advice on the requirements of the Negotiating Mandate Procedures in terms of the Rules and
    Orders; and
  • Assist in summarising the content of the Bill for the Committee as well as the written comments
    and inputs.
